About this event
Batik Hoedown is a fun way to use up your batik scraps. This beginner friendly class uses a unique piecing method to complete the blocks for a lap quilt in 1 day. The quilt finishes at 40” x 50” without the border. Of course if you want a larger quilt make more of these blocks.

About instructor Maryalice Beinert:
I’m Maryalice Beinert and I’ll be teaching the Batik Hoedown workshop. I’ve been sewing since high school, mostly home dec items and clothes. I got interested in quilting in the 70’s and made a few baby quilts from magazine patterns using cotton polyester fabric. I didn’t even know that there was such a thing as the quilt police. It wasn’t until I retired that I really became interested learning how to quilt. That’s when I started taking classes and learned about rotary cutting. What a great invention! I still enjoy taking classes and learning new techniques.
